Student in the GIS program at Mesa College responsible for four class projects incorporating various aspects of GIS.

  • Accident Reduction based on Red Light Traffic Cameras

  • Researched and geocoded four intersections in the San Diego area and followed publicly available accident statistics for both before and after red-light cameras were installed to see if the amount of accidents was reduced.

  • Experience gained in geocoding several street intersections in San Diego.

  • Growth Impact Study of Lakeside Downs

  • Looked at various implications of approving a new housing project in Lakeside, CA based on the impact of roads, traffic, floodplains, high tension power lines, and slope.

  • Interpolation in Spatial Analysis - Predicting the Temperature of an Unknown Point

  • Predicted what the average rainfall and temperature would be for two seasons at a previously unknown ghost-town based on interpolating nearby area temperatures and rainfall amounts for two periods of a year.

  • Gained skills in spatial analysis and interpolation of data at an unknown location via interpolation.

  • Animation of Geographical Information/Maps

  • Animated maps showing projected population growth for the City of San Diego for the period of 2000 - 2030 and discussed which areas are projected to receive the most growth.

  • Learned how to present data to a large group in a simplified manner.
